Theresa Centeno

I can vividly recall my first CrossFit workout back in May of 2010, a modified 5 minutes of ‘Cindy’ that brought me to my knees gasping for air. Sure, I was athletic and thought I was pretty fit, but after eating a nice slice of humble pie on my first day I knew I was hooked.

I started CrossFit because I was looking for that next ‘Beach Body Boot camp’ type class to get in bathing suit shape; I stuck with CrossFit because it challenged me in ways I could never have imagined. CrossFit has an innate way to make you want to be stronger, faster, healthier… it pushes you out of your comfort zone and empowers you to accomplish things you never thought possible.

I became a coach because I wanted to give back to the CrossFit community that has changed my life. It is a community that advocates ‘strong is beautiful’, it helped me to be comfortable in my own skin and celebrate the body I have. CrossFit has changed my perception of health and fitness and as a coach I want to share that experience. I want to encourage members to see their potential, to celebrate their milestones and build a sense of confidence that will remain with them well after they leave the box.

To be honest, I am not certain if I found CrossFit or if CrossFit found me…but what I am certain of is I am happier, healthier person since CrossFit has become a part of my life.
